For the evaluation of the resume in the general competition, undergraduate and graduate degrees, certified experience (teaching, research and professional) and academic productivity will be taken into account, in accordance with the aspects and scores indicated in Table 7 of Article 35 of the Regulations for the selection of professors of the UIS of the PDF document published in Documentation and Regulations.
For the application of the points described in Table 7, the following considerations will be taken into account:
Experience: The Evaluation Committee will award 4 points per year of additional experience to that established in the corresponding profile, without in any case the total score being higher than the maximum established in this item.
For accounting purposes, simultaneous experience will be taken into account only once.
Academic productivity: The Evaluation Committee will evaluate the products certified by the candidate as established in Article 10 of Decree 1279 of 2002, the one that modifies, replaces, adds or replaces it, and the total scores of the candidates will be ordered from highest to lowest. For the purposes of the competition, only the productivity of the last ten (10) years will be taken into account.
In the event that there is more than one candidate, all the points established for this criterion will be assigned to the candidate who has the highest score according to Decree 1279 of 2002, the one who modifies, replaces, adds or replaces it. A proportional distribution will be made to assign the points to the other candidates.
In application of the principle of favorability, for the assignment of the score corresponding to the additional academic productivity required in the contestant’s profile, specifically in the case of publications in journals (national or international indexed), the one that awards the highest score to the contestant will be considered.
Therefore, in order to comply with the minimum requirements, the academic productivity of the lowest value in terms of the classification or homologation established in Publindex will be taken into account.
When the profile of the position of the clinical areas of the School of Medicine is included as a requirement of care experience instead of academic productivity, in the evaluation of the curriculum vitae, no points will be awarded for academic productivity.
In no case may more than the score defined in the table be awarded.
For experience and intellectual production, only what is certified in the ten (10) years prior to the contest will be recognized. In the case of female contestants who have had children within the previous ten (10) years, additional experience and certified intellectual productivity in the twelve (12) years prior to the contest will be recognized.
At the time of registration, the contestant, who avails herself of the provisions herein, must provide the respective civil registry of birth of the children.
When the certification of teaching experience is by hours, one year of full-time equivalent teaching experience corresponds to the dedication of at least 12 hours per week of direct teaching during two academic semesters.
The score awarded in the grade of the resume will apply only for the purposes of the teaching competition. To determine the down payment salary, the provisions of Decree 1279 of 2002 will be applied, whichever modifies, replaces, adds or replaces it.
If, when grading an applicant’s resume, it is concluded that he or she does not meet any of the requirements to participate in the teaching competition or one of the requirements defined in the profile, the applicant will not continue in the process and therefore the qualification of his or her resume does not proceed.
The interview seeks to identify relevant aspects of the candidate: personality, ability to live in community, tolerance, attitude towards teaching, ethics, rigor for work in the discipline and ability to commit to their own personal, intellectual, professional and teaching development and institutional empathy.
The development of the interview will be evaluated taking into account the aspects indicated in article 39, of the Regulations for the selection of professors of the UIS, page 24 of the PDF document published in Documentation and Regulations.
