General
Considerations
The Institute of Languages of the Universidad Industrial de Santander invites you to participate in Call No. 004-2025 to expand the pool of eligible instructors for foreign language extension courses.
Each applicant may consult the UIS website for the publication of the results of the stages that make up this call, in accordance with its schedule.
Modality: classes in face-to-face and/or remote modality.
Schedules: Courses are assigned according to demand. Monday to Friday in 2-hour daily slots for each class, and on Saturdays in 4.5-hour slots both in the morning and in the afternoon, depending on the service needs and the instructor’s availability.
Location: Bucaramanga campuses – metropolitan area and regional campuses according to the applicant’s profile.
Competition Evaluation: Each of the stages included in the call is eliminatory.

RÉSUMÉ
Evaluation
.
- Verification of the submission of the résumé in FTH.150 format with supporting documents.
- Evaluation of the FTH.150 résumé: The result of this evaluation must be at least 50 points in order to proceed to the next stage of the process.
- Only one undergraduate degree will be considered.
- Only one doctoral degree will be recognized.
- Work experience is counted from the date of the undergraduate degree and simultaneity is not recognized.
- Certificates of refresher courses and academic productivity completed within the last 5 years will be taken into account to add points in the résumé evaluation. (Refresher courses must be in pedagogical areas or in areas related to the call’s requirements).
LANGUAGE
Proficiency
.
Applicants must present a certification of official international or UIS institutional language proficiency exam at level B2 or higher, according to the CEFR, with a validity of less than 2 years for B2 and less than 3 years for C1. (This certificate will be awarded points in the résumé evaluation). See the list of accepted exams provided by the Institute of Languages.
Notes:
Applicants who provide a valid language proficiency certificate will be exempt from taking the UIS institutional exam. (It will also add points to the résumé evaluation).
Applicants who do not present a language proficiency certificate in the language to be taught and meet the other requirements will be summoned by the UIS Institute of Languages to take the institutional proficiency exam on the date indicated in the call.
UIS graduates with a degree in foreign languages will be exempt from taking the institutional proficiency exam for the purposes of the call. However, like all eligible candidates, they must present the International or Institutional proficiency exam every two years during their stay in the Pool of Eligible Candidates.
Inclusion in the list of eligible candidates does not imply any obligation or commitment on the part of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) or the UIS Institute of Languages to assign teaching positions, nor does it grant the right to receive financial support for those who have submitted their applications.
Once included in the pool of eligible candidates, their assignment will depend on the service needs of the campus and schedule corresponding to the profile for which they applied.
TEACHING

10-minute Sample Class: The result of the mini class evaluation must be equal to or greater than 15 points in order to continue in the process.
INTERVIEW

The result of the interview evaluation must be equal to or greater than 6 points in order to continue in the process.
GENERAL
Notes
.
- Applicants interested in participating in this call must register and upload in ONE SINGLE PDF FILE the documents, the completed FTH.150 Institutional Résumé Form, and the supporting documents at the link provided.
- The documentation uploaded by applicants within the established timeframe will be the only one considered throughout the process covered by the call. The Institute of Languages, by decision of the Primary Group, may authorize the correction of minor formal defects in the submitted documents during the résumé verification and evaluation stage.
- The accuracy and content of the supporting documents attached will be the sole responsibility of the applicant, and, in any case, the UIS Institute of Languages reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant in the résumé.
- Applications that do not meet the established requirements, are submitted with incomplete documentation, or are sent after the date indicated in the schedule of the call will not be considered.
- Male applicants must take into account that: “In order for the applicant to be hired by the University, among other legal requirements, he must provide proof of compliance with his military service obligation. This may be accredited through the submission of a copy of the Military Card, Provisional Military Card, or through a document issued by the Recruitment Office of the Armed Forces.”
- Each stage of the call is eliminatory. Likewise, failure to present any of the stages by the applicant will be considered as a voluntary withdrawal from the call.
- Once included in the pool of eligible candidates, assignment will be made according to service needs.
