General

Aspects

The occasional common cycle teacher at Universidad Industrial de Santander is a natural professional with the academic qualifications to carry out activities exclusively related to the university’s educational mission, specifically as a full-time instructor (40 hours per week). He is neither a public employee nor part of the teaching career, nor is he an official worker. The teaching duties of an occasional common cycle teacher must be no fewer than 22 hours per week during the regular academic period. During inter-semester or recess periods, teaching duties may include inter-semester courses, subject previews, or non-degree courses, among other activities, offered in line with the teacher’s area of expertise; or they may include teacher training or academic management support activities.

Call

Requirements

  1. Be a professional in the area of the defined profile.

  2. Prove at least 60 hours in training courses for the exercise of teaching carried out in the last 5 years.

  3. Prove at least 3 years of university teaching experience.

  4. Submit a letter of application where the applicant expresses interest, motivation and full-time availability to be an occasional teacher in the common cycle and indicates the profile to which he or she is applying.

  5. Fill out the registration form according to the terms of the call.

  6. Submit resume in the format established by the University along with the respective annexes and supports.

  7. Not be involved in grounds of inability or incompatibility of constitutional or legal order.

  • Photocopy of undergraduate degree.

  • Photocopy of the postgraduate degree or degrees.

  • Institutional certifications that demonstrate experience, which must be subsequent to obtaining the undergraduate degree and must contain the following information: Institution, type of relationship, position held, functions, name of the project or subjects taught, dedication (Full-Time, Part-Time, Hours/Week), start date and end date.

  • Other documents that allow verifying compliance with the requirements and the information that rests in the resume.

Process

  • Digitize the forms and documents required for registration and assemble a single file in PDF format with a maximum weight of 10Mb. The file name must be the full name of the applicant.

    The order in which the documents are organized is as follows:

    • Registration form

    • Letter of application

    • Resume in the form established by the university

    • Academic Qualifications

    • Certifications of experience.

    • Certifications of training courses for the exercise of teaching

3. Fill in the required fields and upload the PDF with the documentation.

Notes

  • Those interested in participating in the public call for the formation of the List of Candidates for Occasional Teaching Common Cycle will upload the documents and supports duly filled out in the online form provided by the Academic Vice-Rector’s Office on the microsite of the call.

  • All the documentation submitted must be duly numbered, the supports must be organized chronologically from the most recent to the oldest.

  • In the stage corresponding to the verification of requirements, no equivalences between studies and experience will be applied.

  • The veracity and content of the attached supports will be the sole responsibility of the applicant and, in any case, the university reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant.

  • After the closing of registrations, omissions of requirements required to accredit the conditions of participation in the call may not be corrected.

  • The tests will be applied on the dates provided for in the schedule of activities set out in the Agreement of the Academic Council, which provided for the opening of this call.

  • The time and place of the tests will be reported in the publication of the results of each stage, through the University’s website.

  • Failure to present any of the tests by the applicant will be considered as voluntary withdrawal from the competition.

  • The results of each of the stages of this call will be announced through the institutional website.

  • Applicants will only have the possibility of registering for one (1) of the profiles called. In the case of multiple registrations (several to the same profile or to different profiles) the University will only attend to the last registration.
