GENERAL

Aspects

The call for candidates to expand the bank of eligible tutors in the distance and virtual education modality of the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education – IPRED, aims to select people with a high sense of belonging and institutional commitment, hired by the University to perform teaching functions, with a level of personal excellence, professional and ethical, oriented to the achievement of the Institutional Vision, Mission and Objectives. The tutor performs the function of subject management on a temporary basis and his/her link to the UIS is made through a special employment contract, for a maximum term of one academic semester.

With the bank of eligible candidates, IPRED programs are allowed to have a list of professionals who have met the requirements to be linked as tutors of IPRED academic programs, valid for five (5) years; This does not imply an immediate link, but rather that they will be called upon to the extent that teaching needs arise in the programs.

This call is part of the strategy of articulation of the undergraduate academic programs offered by Universidad Industrial de Santander with the secondary education levels of the public educational institutions of the Department of Santander promoted by the UIS and the Departmental Government, so the invitation is extended to all teachers linked to the different public schools that are part of this strategy in the Department of Santander. to participate under the conditions, criteria and institutional regulations existing for this purpose.

    PDF document with the curriculum vitae in the UIS format filled out completely and supporting documents of what is reported in the curriculum vitae (copy of the degrees and degree certificates, teaching and work experience, academic productivity and certifications of refresher courses related to the pedagogical or professional area of the last 5 years).   • Comply with the training and experience required for each profile.

  • Have time availability from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays in synchronous or asynchronous hybrid mode, virtual or in-person in the case of practical subjects.

Those interested in participating in the call must fill out the registration form and upload the 2 files listed below in PDF format:

  • 1 PDF file with the application letter.

  • 1 PDF file with the curriculum vitae in the UIS format and supporting documents of what is reported in the curriculum vitae (copy of degrees and degree certificates, teaching and work experience, academic productivity, certifications, etc.).

  • It is important that contact details such as cell phone number, landline number and email are correct and up-to-date, so that communication can be established in a timely manner at the time it is required.

The Academic Sub-Directorate of IPRED identifies that the applicant has provided the documents required for registration.

VERIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS AND

In accordance with the provisions of Agreement No. 105 of 1999, which states that the Selection Committee for Candidates for Tutors will be in charge of carrying out the entire selection process and will establish formats for evaluating and weighting scores for the tests.

This body verifies that the resumes meet the minimum requirements for the profile to which they are submitted and evaluates the curriculum vitae based on the criteria established in Agreement No. 105 of 1999. The Academic Coordination will inform candidates who obtain 24 points or more in the CV evaluation about the next step (essay submission). Candidates who score below 24 do not continue in the process.

Applicants who meet the minimum requirements (degrees and supports) and who exceed the score of the resume, will receive a message to their email with the link to attach an argumentative essay taking into account the following:

  • Theme: Critical aspects to make possible the interaction with students in distance and virtual modalities and concrete actions to carry them out.

  • Format: Between 700 and 1000 words, Arial font size 11, line spacing 1.5 and margins of 2 cm

  • If you are applying for profiles from different academic programs, you will need to submit one essay for each program. If they are profiles from the same academic program, you only need to submit one essay.

Structure of the essay:

  • Introduction: Introduce the topic and state the point of view to be defended

  • Body: the arguments with which you defend your point of view are developed and examples and evidence are provided

  • Conclusion: summarize the main points of the writing and present a coherent conclusion

Take into account the following indicators: organization, coherence and relevance of the test; use of language; argumentative and creative skills; validity of the concepts addressed and; Up-to-date references in the bibliography.

INTERVIEW

  • Applicants who exceeded the minimum score of the essay will receive a message to their email, informing them of the day and time of the interview, in which the following points are assessed:

  • Substantiation of the essay: argue the topic presented in the essay

  • Substantiation of teaching experience: demonstrate specific experience and competencies in the area of the subject(s) of interest as a teacher

  • Support as a virtual tutor: demonstrate their experience and competencies in the management of ICT tools and virtual education platforms.

  • Perspective as an IPRED tutor teacher: express your interest as an IPRED tutor teacher, through some projection of personal and collective improvement that allows the constant improvement of the educational dynamics in the dialogic interaction with the student, according to the Institutional Pedagogical Model.

Conditions

  • Diplomas are not recognized as a postgraduate degree.

  • In the case of postgraduate studies, those who have satisfactorily completed the study program and supported the degree project, who only have the granting of the degree pending, are accepted a certification from the Academic Registry Office of the respective university in which it declares it. It is also specified that in the event that the applicant is included in the bank of eligible to perform the function of subject management through the signing of the special employment contract, he or she must be in possession of the respective postgraduate degree required in the profile.

  • For foreign applicants to present a work visa

  • For degrees issued abroad, the corresponding validation must be presented.

  • The documentation submitted by the applicants through the call form, within the established dates, will be the only source of information that will be taken into account in the evaluation process.

  • A person can apply for several profiles in a program, if they consider that they meet the requirements of each of them.

     

  • If you choose to enroll in two or more programs, you must register separately for each program. In this condition, it is clarified that, for each program, a curriculum vitae and its supports must be submitted.

  • The call for regional offices and CAEs (Student Service Centers) is aimed at professionals who reside in these municipalities or their areas of influence; In this regard, travel expenses will not be recognized.

  • The University reserves the right to verify the information provided by applicants in the resume.
