Potential

Beneficiaries

This call offers access to forgivable educational loans for Colombian professionals who have been admitted to any of the research master’s degree programs and medical-surgical specialties listed in the document but have not yet started their studies. The purpose of this Third Public Call is to form high-level human capital for the Department of Santander at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (BPIN 2020000100536).

 

 

Registration

Process

Note: To be eligible for the condonable educational loans, the student must be admitted to one of the graduate academic programs mentioned in the “Programs and Focuses” section and must not have started a semester yet..

MASTERS IN

Research

Financing of the educational credit for research master’s degrees: The financing for each beneficiary will be for a maximum period of two (2) years and for a maximum amount of EIGHTY MILLION PESOS M / CTE ($ 80,000,000).

The following items will be financed:

  • Support for the payment of tuition: a maximum amount of TWENTY MILLION PESOS M / CTE ($ 20,000,000) for the two (2) years. The remaining tuition money for the program will be subsidized by the University for the same period.

  • Monthly support: Being full-time dedication programs, support will be granted for the support of the beneficiary for a value of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS M / CTE ($ 2,500,000) for up to 24 months, that is, a maximum total of $ 60,000,000

MEDICAL SURGICAL

Specializations

The financing for each beneficiary will be for a maximum period of three (3) years and for a maximum amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX MILLION PESOS M / CTE ($ 126,000,000)

The following items will be financed:

  • Tuition payment support: a maximum amount of THIRTY-SIX MILLION PESOS M/CTE ($36,000,000) for the three (3) years. The remaining tuition money for the program will be subsidized by the University for the same period.

  • Monthly support: Being full-time dedication programs, support will be granted for the support of the beneficiary for a value of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS M / CTE ($ 2,500,000) for up to 36 months, that is, a maximum total of $ 90,000,000

The conditions for human capital formation for the Regions are set out in the terms of reference for Mechanism 1:

Master’s degree or medical-surgical specialties, established for the Call of the Science, Technology and Innovation Fund of the General System of Royalties for the Conformation of a List of Proposals of Eligible Projects aimed at the Formation of High Level Human Capital for the Regions. They are all those conditions of mode, time, and place, objective or subjective, antecedent or concomitant, predicable of the applicant registered to the Call or of the project submitted for consideration, which prevents the continuity of his participation in the selection process, or that, having obtained the benefit in question makes it impossible to enjoy it:

  • Have a master’s degree or surgical medical specialty or a higher degree than that offered in this call.

  • Have started semesters of study of their master’s program or surgical medical specialty.

  • Have funding for the development of the master’s program or medical surgical specialty.

  • The research proposal does not respond to the focuses prioritized by the department of Santander.

  • The program to which you were admitted is not part of the list of programs offered in this call.

Being born in Colombia
  • Photocopy of the candidate’s identification document

Demonstrate link to an entity of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTeI) or accredit CTeI products for the benefit of the department of Santander.

  • Certification signed by the Legal Representative of the SNCTeI entity certifying its current or non-current relationship, (See Annex 3. List of recognized actors SNCTeI).
  • Deliverable that allows to accredit the CTeI product or products that it has made for the benefit of the Santander department (see Annex 4. Type of products).
Be admitted to one of the programs offered in the project proposal and not have started studies.
  • Letter of admission from the University to the Program you wish to pursue.
Submit a proposal for degree work articulated with one of the focuses prioritized for this call by the department of Santander.
  • Submit the document of the degree work proposal taking into account the content and specifications of the document established in these terms of reference.

Be registered in the national database of the Beneficiary Selection System for Social Programs – SISBEN, provided by the National Planning Department – DNP, at the last cut-off date.

2. Letter signed by the applicant in which he declares under oath that he does not incur in any of the disqualifying conditions of this call (Model candidate letter, Annex 2)

4. Research proposal: Corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of their studies of medical surgical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

SUBMISSION OF THE

research proposal

It corresponds to a text in which the applicant presents, in a concise manner, the research that will be carried out in the development of their studies of medical surgical specialization or research master’s degree associated with any of the six foci prioritized by the Department of Santander.

Parameters to present the research proposal:

  • Format: The proposal must be presented in Arial font format 11 points; double-spaced and with a maximum length of 3000 words or 10 pages, not including bibliography and annexes.

  • Bibliography: the APA citation system, 6th Edition must be used.

The proposal should be submitted considering the following sections:

  1. Presentation page:

    • Title of the proposal

    • Name of the candidate

    • Candidate’s ID number

    • Graduate program to which you are admitted

    • Strategic focus of the Santander Department to which the postgraduate and the proposal are associated.

  2. Statement of the research question.

  3. Justification.

  4. Conceptual Framework.

  5. General objective.

  6. Specific objectives.

  7. Research methodology.

  8. Results and expected products of the research.

  9. Contribution of the proposal with the strategic photo of the department of Santander.

  10. Scientific technical support

    • Name of the research group that supports the proposal, current classification (according to the results of the Call 894 of 2021 of MinCiencias).

    • Synthesis of the conformation and trajectory of the research group.

Annexs:

In order to verify and assign the points corresponding to the scientific technical support criterion of the proposal, the applicant must attach the following documents (in a single PDF independent of the proposal as such):

  • Letter of endorsement signed by the director of the Research Group supporting the proposal,(Annex 2).
  • Letter of intent signed by the professor who will direct the research work, member of the research group that endorses the proposal, (Annex 2).
  • For the purposes of tie-breaking criteria, it is requested to attach the electoral certificate of the last national elections in which he was a voter.
