Call for Applications 003 – 2025

General

Considerations

The Language Institute of the Universidad Industrial de Santander invites interested candidates to participate in Public Call No. 003-2025, aimed at expanding the pool of eligible Professors and Instructors for foreign language extension courses.

Each applicant may consult the UIS website for the publication of results corresponding to the different stages of this call, in accordance with its official schedule.

Modality: Classes may be delivered in-person and/or remotely.

Schedules: Courses are assigned based on demand. Classes take place Monday through Friday in 2-hour daily time slots, and on Saturdays in 4.5-hour blocks, either in the morning or afternoon, depending on service needs and instructor availability.

Location: Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area campuses, as well as regional campuses, depending on the profile applied for.

Evaluation of the Selection Process: Each stage outlined in the call is eliminatory in nature.

Evaluation

  • Verification of submission of the FTH.150 CV form with supporting documents.
  • Evaluation of the FTH.150 CV: A minimum score of 50 points is required in this evaluation to proceed to the next stage of the process.
  • Only one undergraduate degree will be considered.
  • Only one doctoral degree will be recognized.
  • Experience will be counted from the date of the undergraduate graduation, and concurrent experience will not be recognized.
  • Certificates of continuing education courses and academic productivity obtained within the last five years will be considered for awarding points in the CV evaluation. (Continuing education courses must be in pedagogical areas or in areas related to the scope of the call for applications.)

LANGUAGE

Profiency

Submit certification of an official international or UIS institutional language proficiency exam at B2 level or higher, according to the CEFR, with a validity of less than 2 years; C1 level with a validity of less than 3 years. (This certificate will be awarded points in the CV evaluation). See the table of exams accepted by the Language Institute.

Notes:

  1. Applicants who submit a valid, current proficiency certificate will be exempt from taking the UIS Language Institute institutional exam. (This will add points to the CV evaluation).
  2. Applicants who do not submit a proficiency certificate in the language to be taught and meet the other requirements will be summoned by the UIS Language Institute to take the institutional proficiency exam on the date indicated in the call for applications.
  3. Applicants holding a degree in foreign language teaching from UIS will be exempt from taking the institutional proficiency exam for the purposes of the call. However, like all eligible candidates, they must take either the international or institutional proficiency exam every two years in order to remain in the Pool of Eligible Candidates.

Inclusion in the list of eligible candidates does not imply any obligation or commitment on the part of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) or the UIS Language Institute to assign teaching positions, nor does it grant the right to receive financial support for those who have submitted applications.

Once included in the pool of eligible candidates, engagement will be based on service needs for the campus and schedule corresponding to the profile for which the candidate applied.

GENERAL

Notes

  • .Applicants interested in participating in this call for applications must register and upload, in A SINGLE PDF FILE, the completed INSTITUTIONAL RÉSUMÉ FORM FTH.150 along with the supporting documents, using the link provided.
  • The documentation uploaded by applicants within the established period will be the only material considered throughout the entire process covered by this call. The Language Institute, by decision of the Primary Group, may authorize the correction of minor formal defects in the documents submitted, during the verification and résumé evaluation stage.
  • The accuracy and content of the supporting documents submitted will be the sole responsibility of the applicant. In any case, the UIS Language Institute reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant in the résumé.
  • Applications that do not meet the established requirements, are submitted with incomplete documentation, or are sent after the date indicated in the schedule of the call will not be considered.
  • Male candidates must note that: “In order for an applicant to be hired by the University, among other legal requirements, they must provide proof of having resolved their military service status, which may be evidenced through a copy of the military service card, provisional card, or through the document issued by the Recruitment Office of the Armed Forces.”
  • Each stage included in the call for applications is eliminatory in nature. Likewise, failure by the candidate to attend or complete any of the stages will be considered voluntary withdrawal from the process.
  • Once included in the pool of eligible candidates, engagement will be based on service needs.
