General
Aspects
The UIS Language Institute invites you to participate in Public Call No. 006-2024 to expand the pool of eligible Professor-Instructors for foreign language extension courses.
Applicants can consult the UIS website for the publication of results for each stage, as outlined in the call’s schedule.
Modality: Classes in-person and/or remote mode.
Schedules: Courses are assigned according to demand. Monday to Friday in 2-hour slots per day each class and on Saturdays in 4:30 hour slots both in the morning and in the afternoon according to the need of the service and availability of the teacher.
Place: Bucaramanga Campuses – metropolitan area and Regional Headquarters according to the applied profile.

Verification of the submission of resume in FTH.150 format with supports.
Evaluation of the FTH.150 resume: The result of this evaluation must be at least 50 points to continue to the next stage of the process.
Only one undergraduate degree will be considered
Only one doctoral degree will be recognized
Experience is counted from the date of undergraduate degree and concurrency is not recognized.
LANGUAGE

Present Certification of official international or institutional UIS language proficiency exam level B2 or higher, according to the CEFR with validity of less than 2 years, C1 Validity of less than 3 years. (This certificate will have points in the evaluation of the resume).
Notes:
Applicants who do not present a certificate of competence in the language to be taught and meet the other requirements will be summoned by the UIS Language Institute to present the institutional competency exam on the date indicated in the call.
Applicants who have a valid certificate of competence will be exempt from taking the ILUIS institutional exam (adds points in the evaluation of the resume).
Applicants with a degree in foreign language from UIS will be exempt from taking the institutional competency exam for the purposes of the call. Like all eligible candidates, they must take the International or Institutional competency exam after two years for their stay in the Eligible Persons Bank.
Inclusion in the list of eligible candidates does not imply any obligation or commitment on the part of the Universidad Industrial de Santander UIS or the UIS Language Institute to allocate spaces, nor does it generate the right to receive financial support for those who have submitted the corresponding applications.
Once entered into the bank of eligible candidates, their connection will be according to the need for the service for the headquarters and schedule in the profile to which they have applied.

SAMPLE CLASS

10-minute sample class time: The result of the evaluation of the mini-class must be equal to or greater than 15 points to continue in the process.
INTERVIEW

The result of the interview evaluation must be equal to or greater than 6 points to continue in the process.
SELECTION
process
.
An order of eligibility will be established from highest to lowest score, for the election of the candidates in this call, according to the score obtained in the evaluation of the resume for each of the applications.
In the event that the applicant does not accept the conclusion of the contract or does not complete it within the period specified in the schedule, the right will be awarded to the next on the list of eligible candidates and so on until the list of eligible candidates is exhausted.
The list of eligible candidates will be valid for one hundred (100) calendar days from its final publication, so that, in the event of early termination of the contract due to any circumstance and the consequent release of a space, the next on the list of eligible candidates may be called, while it is in force.
The inclusion of an application in the list of eligible candidates does not imply any obligation or commitment on the part of the Universidad Industrial de Santander UIS or the UIS Language Institute to assign spaces, nor does it generate the right to receive financial support for those who have submitted the corresponding applications.
CRITERIA OF
tiebreaker
In the event of a tie in the total score of two or more candidates, the Universidad Industrial de Santander, through the UIS Language Institute, will select the candidate who enters the list of eligible candidates and their order of eligibility applying the following criteria:
As the first tie-breaking factor, priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate greater experience in the position.
As a second tie-breaking factor, priority will be given to candidates who have a higher academic preparation verified in a degree.
As a third tie-breaking factor, candidates whose main residence is in a municipality in the department of Santander will have priority.
If the tie continues, the first application received will be chosen.

Those interested in participating in this call must upload the documents, supports and forms duly filled out at the link located in the banner above these General Notes, provided by the Institute of Languages according to the call for applications.
The documentation uploaded by the applicants at the established time will be the only one that will be taken into account throughout the process that is the subject of the call. The Language Institute, by decision of the Primary Group, may authorize the correction of defects in a simple way in the documents provided, during the stage of verification and evaluation of resumes.
The veracity and content of the attached supports will be the sole responsibility of the applicant and, in any case, the UIS Language Institute reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant in the resume.

Registrations that do not meet the established requirements, are submitted with incomplete documentation or those that are sent after the date indicated in the call schedule will not be considered.
Male candidates must take into account that: “In order for the applicant to be linked to the University, among other legal requirements, he must prove that he has defined his military situation. Which may be accredited through the presentation of a copy of the Military Booklet, Provisional Booklet or by means of the document defined by the Military Forces Recruitment Headquarters”
Each of the stages contemplated in the call are eliminatory. Likewise, the failure of the candidate to present any of the stages will be considered as voluntary withdrawal from the call.
Once entered into the bank of eligible persons, their linkage will be made according to the need of the service.

From November 18 to 21, 2024, – Verification of compliance with requirements and assessment of the resume of registered applicants.
November 22, 2024 – Publication of the results of the verification of requirements and evaluation of resume. And summons by email to candidates who must take the ILUIS institutional competence exam.
November 25, 2024 – Receipt of appeals for reconsideration (1 business day to file the appeal)

December 5, 2024 – Publication of competency exam results. And sending mail to sample class (Mini-class).
Email with instructions for the presentation of the mini-class is sent to candidates who continue to the next stage.

December 17, 2024 – Inclusion in the UIS Language Institute of the UIS Language Institute of the aspiring Instructor professors.
