General
Aspects
The UIS Language Institute, invites you to participate in the Public Call No. 004-2024 to expand the bank of professors-Instructors eligible for foreign language courses in extension courses.
Each applicant will be able to consult on the UIS website the publication of the results of the stages, which make up the development of this call in accordance with its schedule.
Courses: English for Children, Teenagers and Adults / Other languages: Portuguese, French, German, Italian for users aged 15 and over.
Modality: Classes in-person and/or remote mode.
Schedules: Courses are assigned according to demand. Monday to Friday in 2-hour slots per day each class and on Saturdays in 4:30 hour slots both in the morning and in the afternoon according to the need for the service.
Place: Headquarters in Bucaramanga and metropolitan area, and Regional headquarters according to the need for the service and the profile applied.

The result of the evaluation of the FTH.150 resume must be at least 50 points to continue to the next stage of the process.
Only one undergraduate degree will be considered
Only one doctoral degree will be recognized
Experience is counted from the date of undergraduate degree and concurrency is not recognized.
The certificates of refresher courses and academic productivity carried out during the last 5 years will be taken into account to add points in the evaluation of the resume. (The refresher courses must be in pedagogical areas or in areas of performance of the call).
LANGUAGE

Certification of official international or institutional UIS exam, level B2 or higher according to CEFR with validity of less than 2 years, C1 Validity of less than 3 years. (This certificate will have points in the evaluation of the resume).
Notes:
If you do not have a valid certificate of proficiency in English with competence B2, C1, and meet the other requirements, you will be summoned by the UIS Language Institute for the presentation of the institutional proficiency exam on the date indicated in the call.
Applicants who have a valid certificate of competence will be exempt from taking the IL UIS institutional exam.
Graduates in foreign language graduated from UIS will be exempt from taking the institutional competency exam.
Inclusion in the list of eligible candidates does not imply any obligation or commitment on the part of the Universidad Industrial de Santander UIS or the UIS Language Institute to allocate spaces, nor does it generate the right to receive financial support for those who have submitted the corresponding applications.
Once entered into the bank of eligible candidates, their connection will be according to the need for the service for the headquarters and schedule in the profile to which they have applied.

Notes
Those interested in participating in this call must upload the documents, supports and forms duly filled out at the link indicated by the Institute of Languages according to the schedule of the call.
The documentation uploaded by the applicants in the established time will be the only one that will be taken into account throughout the process that is the subject of the call. The Language Institute, by decision of the Primary Group, may authorize the correction of defects in a simple way in the documents provided, during the stage of verification and evaluation of resumes.
The veracity and content of the attached supports will be the sole responsibility of the applicant and, in any case, the UIS Language Institute reserves the right to verify the information provided by the applicant in the resume.
Registrations that do not meet the established requirements, are submitted with incomplete documentation or those that are sent after the date indicated in the call schedule will not be considered.

Male candidates must take into account that: “In order for the applicant to be linked to the University, among other legal requirements, he must prove that he has defined his military situation, which may be accredited through the presentation of a copy of the Military Booklet, Provisional Booklet or through the document defined by the Military Forces Recruitment Headquarters”
Each of the stages contemplated in the call are eliminatory. Likewise, the failure of the candidate to present any of the stages will be considered as voluntary withdrawal from the call.
Once entered into the bank of eligible persons, their linkage will be made according to the need of the service.

August 22, 2024 – Review of registrants and sending of the institutional resume format FTH-150 to registered candidates.
August 26, 2024 – Receipt of resume format with supports and attachments sent by the participants.
August 27 – 28, 2024 – Verification of compliance with requirements and assessment of resumes.

August 29, 2024 – Publication of the results of the verification of requirements and evaluation of resume.
The summons is sent by email to candidates who are going to take the IL UIS institutional exam.
August 30, 2024 – Receipt of appeals for reconsideration (1 business day to file the appeal).
August 29 -30, 2024 – Registration or updating of resume in the academic system of the Language Institute (teaching candidate – Language Institute)
September 3, 2024 – Administration of the Institutional Competency Examination to the aforementioned candidates.

September 6, 2024 -Publication of proficiency exam results and list of sample class call-ups (Mini-class).
Email with instructions for the presentation of the mini-class is sent to candidates who continue to the next stage.
September 9 – 11, 2024 – Presentation of the mini-class according to instructions provided. (10-minute class in remote zoom face-to-face).
Interviews with aspiring Instructor teachers cited.

September 12, 2024 – Email sent to applicants who passed all the stages to self-register data and documents on the SIA platform.
September 13, 2024 – Publication of the Dean’s Resolution with the list of professors-instructors who become part of the Eligible Group.
September 16, 2024 – Receipt of appeals for reconsideration (1 working day to file the appeal).
September 16, 2024 – Inclusion in the UIS Language Institute of the candidate list of the aspiring Instructor professors.
